Skyrocket has a globally distributed team with over 20 countries represented in our workforce. One key area for us is the Philippines where we have a number of very efficient and dedicated link prospectors who identify and sort through all kinds of link opportunities for our clients.
In line with our goal to be culturally aware of all of our team members (nobody has learned more than I have personally in the past 18 months about different cultures and work ethics around the world) we try to support and celebrate with our team whenever they have something going on locally that is important to them.
The month of May in the Philippines means Flores de Mayo (or Flowers of May) which is a festival held all month long in honour of the Virgin Mary.
Kerby, one of our longest standing and hardest working team members approached me to ask for financial support to help his Church (Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish) celebrate.
For the entirety of the month, all children attended the church daily and took part in all kinds of activities from prayer and singing to listening to lectures. The children were given tokens at the end of each activity which they could redeem for prizes that included treats and school supplies. The prizes were handed out at a closing event which children and parents were invited to and light refreshments were also provided.
The event was a real success and here are some of the photos:
Thank you to all of our clients who make it possible for us to support communities like this around the world.
